Regatta- Shooting at Sea Level
I really like shooting at Regatta Place. Weddings here are elegant and pretty, without feeling stuffy. While some venues make you feel you must tread carefully and “look, don’t touch” A wedding here feels relaxed- just have a Dark and Stormy, and watch the sailboats cruise by. Late afternoon on the dock offers some nice shooting light for groups and usually a cool breeze on a hot summer day. I had a really fun and easy going couple. After a reveal on the dock by the ceremony tent, and some formal groups, it was time to relax and await the ceremony. After and exchange of rings and vows, it was party time in the permanent tented reception area. Shooting pictures at sea level (literally), with a backdrop of Newport’s mega yachts makes this a location that’s quite unique among Newport’s event venues, and a great wedding venue for water lovers.
